FREELANCE TRANSLATOR AND INTERPRETER
From November 2000 until July 2007 I provided professional freelance services as a translator and interpreter with a special focus on technical documents (software localization, printed and online documentation, website translation), as well as general content, marketing documents and literary productions. I participated in translation projects for Microsoft, IBM, Novell, Kenwood, APC, Intermec, Fluke Networks and many others.
Other activities included text proofing and editing, sworn translations and simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.

My responsibilities included the following:
Translation of user interfaces, printed documentation, help/online documentation, Web pages, graphics and marketing material for corporations including Intel, Microsoft, Ericsson and Motorola.
Editing of translations performed by other group members and/or vendors to assure linguistic, technical and terminological accuracy.
1994-1995: Management System Solutions (MSS), Barcelona
Spanish and Catalan Senior Localization Specialist
My responsibilities included the following:
Product Verification Test of the AIX operating system in Austin (Texas), between July and September 1994.
Selected as part of the Quality Assurance and Linguistic Review team of IBM's Common Desktop Environment (CDE).
- Translation, project management and coordination of the AIX operating system (release 4.1.1.). Coordination of the 12-person team involved in this project.
- Translation and linguistic review of user interfaces, online help systems and printed documentation for IBM, Novell and Hewlett-Packard –including NetFinity Services, CIMAPPS and Visual System Management.
1993-1994: FIHOCA HOLDING, Barcelona
Spanish and Catalan Localization Specialist
My responsibilities included the following:
Localization into Spanish and Catalan of several software products, including AIX's user interface and IBM's CIMAPPS printed documentation.
Localization into Spanish of DOS and OS/2 user guides.
Creation and maintenance of terminology databases and glossaries.
